WHY JOIN US
What an official contract with the 33rd Regiment actually gives you.
OFFICIAL CONTRACT
You sign a direct agreement with the Armed Forces of Ukraine — full legal status as a serviceman and protection under the Geneva Conventions.
FLEXIBLE EXIT TERMS
Your first contract runs for 1 year (or 3, if you prefer) — but you have the legal right to terminate it after 6 months of continuous service.
SIMPLIFIED CITIZENSHIP
Eligibility for Ukrainian citizenship through the multiple-citizenship procedure (no need to renounce your first passport), or a residence permit for the length of your contract plus 6 months.
LANGUAGE IS NOT A BARRIER
Many of us speak English, and Ukrainian is not required — key combat commands are taught during training. The platoon also has a large community of Spanish-speaking volunteers.
PAY & MEDICAL COVERAGE
Foreign volunteers are paid on full parity with Ukrainian servicemen.
BASE PAY / REAR
Around 52,000 UAH per month (approx. $1,300) during training and non-combat duty.
COMBAT PAY ("ZERO")
"Zero" is what Ukrainian soldiers call the line of direct contact with the enemy.
From 120,000 to 300,000 UAH per month (approx. $3,000-$7,500), depending on the intensity and risk of front-line combat operations.
WOUNDED-IN-ACTION COVERAGE
Full pay continues, plus an extra 100,000 UAH per month (approx. $2,500) for the entire duration of treatment and rehabilitation.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Open roles in the regiment's combat units. Applications are reviewed individually or in pairs — pre-formed groups are not accepted. Basic requirements: age 18-55, medically fit (confirmed by the military medical board in Ukraine). Prior combat experience is required only for instructor roles — for everything else, we train you.
ASSAULT & COMBAT MEDICS
Dynamic maneuver warfare, reconnaissance, close-quarters combat (CQB), battlefield first aid and casualty evacuation. No sitting static in a trench.
SNIPERS & MARKSMEN
Precision fire in support of assault groups, observation and target reconnaissance. Special selection process applies.
ANTI-TANK GUNNERS
Destroying enemy armoured vehicles, firing positions and fortifications. Training on RPG-7, SPG-9 and modern anti-tank systems.
MILITARY INSTRUCTORS
Training new recruits at the range. Requires 6-12 months of prior combat experience.

ARRIVE IN UKRAINE
We fully coordinate your route, provide logistical support, and meet you after you cross the border.
SECURITY VETTING & PAPERWORK 2-3 WEEKS
In Ukraine, you undergo a mandatory internal background check. It can take longer than expected — but it's done solely for your safety. We need to be 100% certain about everyone who'll stand beside you in a trench or during an assault.
MEDICAL BOARD & CONTRACT SIGNING
Pass the medical commission (VLK) confirming physical fitness, sign your official AFU contract, then head to the training range for unit cohesion training (4-8 weeks).
